1985 Pontiac Fiero GT review from North America
"Hardcore sports car that pleases the need for speed"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car it smoked really, really bad and the dealer (Star City Motors, Lincoln NE) said he had it checked out and it just needed gaskets, but as it turns out that wasn't correct. The engine was blown and I had to replace it (i.e. the 350 miles at latest reading). I purchased and had installed a 2.8 V6 that I found in a 1985 GT that had been crashed in 1985 soon after it rolled off the lot.
General comments?
The car is a bad mama jama. It sounds like a street rod and performs like one too. I can do 0 to 60 in less than 7 seconds. The cars handling capabilities are amazing.
The interior still needs a lot of work because it was very dirty and it seems to me that everyone who ever owned one of these cars smoked a hundred packs a day inside of their cars. Yuk!
