1988 Pontiac Fiero GT review from North America
"I love this little car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the master and slave clutch cylinders when the car was 17 years old. Seals had dried out from minimal use.
General comments?
I bought this car as an affordable "collector" car with future appreciation potential. The 1988 model was the best (and last) year for the Fiero. I drive it for pleasure, to car shows and in Fiero club events.
With the V6 and a 5-speed manual, this car is surprisingly quick. I'm 6'3" and I fit in it fine, with lots of leg room. Getting in and out is not the easiest thing because the car sits very low.
Even at 19 years old, the 1988 Fiero GT still looks fresh and exotic. The plastic body panels hold up extremely well, as does the paint and the interior.
The car handles like a go-kart and sounds like a V8. The mid-engine gives the car great balance. Although my Fiero has low mileage, we have many in our club with well over 100,000 miles that still run great. I saw one with over 400,000 miles on it's 4-cylinder engine and it was still running. If you want a fun car at a very reasonable price, get a Fiero soon. They are beginning to escalate in value and price.

| 1988 - Fiero Coupe 2.5L four cylinder I love this car! It's the best investment I have made! |
| With the 2.8 replaced by a mildly modified 3.4 OHV the Fiero is able to perform as good as it looks! |
