1992 Pontiac Firebird review from North America
"Fun car, plenty of aftermarket support"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not one thing has gone wrong with it, other than wear parts.
Did a full tune up when I got it; radiator flush, trans flush. Do the normal maintenance and any car will last.
General comments?
I love this car. Bought it back in 0ctober of 02, without knowing much on 3rd gens, and slowly been upgrading.
Stock it was a decent driver, but I have added stiffer sport comp springs, Bilstien shocks/struts, C5 corvette brakes, very expensive order from spohn suspension, LSD and new gearing, sub frame connectors.
These cars are fantastic to modify; plenty of parts and basically any small block Chevy will fit in these things.
Currently installing a t56 6 speed from a 94 f-body, later the 383 stroker since the fuel efficient (I average around 26 highway mpgs). The 305 is a little gutless to say the least; 15.4 @ 87mph quarter mile is sloooow.
If you know what you're doing, and love GMs, 82-92 F-bodies are a cheap great platform to build off of!
