Sagging Headliner.
This car would have to be one of the best entry-level sports cars made. For someone who is just starting to drive, it's perfect!
The acceleration in this car is amazing, even for the tiny V6.
My wife has a 1987 Pontiac Fire Bird purchased on November 06 1986. It has spent 99% of it's life in the garage. It has 76000 miles on it and 90% of which was on the road between Fort Worth,Texas and Friendswood,Texas (287 miles). Every time it goes to Friendswood,Texas our son in law has the Fire Bird detailed. It has caused a minimum of trouble and very few repairs. I think the tires were bought in 1994 at Sears. If she could find a way to keep it in the house I am sure she would, It looks as good or better than the day we bought it.
I bought a new 1987 Fire bird in April of 87, a beautiful red with grey interior. I absolutely loved driving it, the best handling car I have ever driven.
Had a lot of mechanical problems with it, the power steering unit went out once, and the belt on the motor broke many times until it was recalled and fixed. Also had to put 2 transmissions in it. I guess everyone would say it was a bad experience, yes, but I still loved the car, it was the sportiest, fastest take off, and drove like a dream, I still miss it, it was my dream car. Connie.
