I actually have a question on the pontiac firebird trans am. I am 17 and looking for my first car. I saw a 1985 trans am for sale for $ 2,200 and says it has 56,000miles. I was wondering how many mpg it could get and if you guys think the mileage was stopped. thank u.

First, you have no business putting this in here. This is not a review. You should have put this as a comment on a real review.
If you can't figure out on your own whether to buy it or not, what help do you expect to get from the internet?
Yeah, I think the odometer probably stopped a long time (like more than 100K miles) ago. So true mileage is unknown. If the owner couldn't be bothered with fixing it, wouldn't you wonder what else he/she never bothered to repair?
Finally, if you have any concern about gas mileage at all, you probably should not even be looking at a TransAm. People who buy those realize (or should realize) that they are going to get lousy gas mileage, but they don't buy them for their economy!
I bought my 1985 T/A about five years ago for 500.00 dollars. The owner was 98 years old; the first owner.
It has still today only 49000 miles on it. This is as close as you can get to original, and it runs great, but gas mileage; you are not going to see any savings there.
It is not for delivering pizzas, it's for weekend romp a rounds. If you have a lot of money, then drive it to work every day. Me, I value mine, it doesn't spend any time in parking lots for people to bump into or scratch.
First car, not a good idea. The front end is hard to judge and it won't stop on a dime. Get a Civic.
