1995 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Love this car to death, beautiful, nice to drive, but here is what I've done to her in the 6 years of ownership:
-Head gasket 2001
-head gasket 2002.
-radiator ($800 job)
-ignition coils, MANY TIMES
-gas tank
- duel exhaust twice
-alternator
-breaks, every year ($500)...the back drums fall apart
-thermostat (but I have found the most expensive one works best)
-battery
-A-frame cracked, tire fell off the car
-alignment
-tires
- tans cooler lines
-emergency break line, over and over
-all break lines
-signal arm
-radiator cap.
Right now I am shopping for a new car, but this is what is wrong with her:
-breaks
-leaking heator core
-won't run when its damp, dies when you hit the brakes, until the thermostat opens
- the heating vents only blow out the main vents, not defrost
just fixed up a hole in the exhaust between resonator and cat. convertor
-Window goes off the guiders, runs up over the top pf the car
-no horn.
General comments?
GM parts for this car are NOT cheap, the labour is long and I've spent thousands of dollars fixing it!
I bought it with a blown head gasket and I wanted my money back, instead they fixed it and I regret it to this day.
