Brake pads worn out at 100,000 miles, but bought car used, so do not know starting condition of pads when I bought it.
Blinkers work/quit intermittently until you hit hazard button.
Passenger side power window quit working.
ABS, low trac, trac off, service vehicle soon lights all on.
Door panel cover peeling up/off riders side door at top by window.
Dash cover warping/raising up on top of instrument panel and at front by windshield vents.
Service vehicle light came on due to daylight running light being burned out.
Per these reviews, sounds like a money pit car. I have strong faith that car is generally good. 30 mpg/highway.
However, in the 20,000 miles I have driven this used car, some of the above issues mentioned have happened to me. The low trac, ABS, trac off, service vehicle soon lights issue has just happened within the last couple hundred miles. Good tips found in these reviews to help assist in repairs.
I searched for this type car due to seeing history of high mileages achieved on these cars...145,000 to 165,000 miles and cars appearance holding up well. Did not know of all these underlying mechanical issues.
Find it very discerning that car manual advises you to take car to shop when service vehicle light comes on instead of giving you info that it could be a mere light bulb change that fixes issue.
I would like to know if my buying car used... would I still be able to go to dealer and have recall work done for free on the intermittent blinker stopping/starting issue?
On the loss of power issues, could this be caused by catalytic converter being plugged? That is a tell tale sign on other vehicles when they lose power and do not read on diagnostics.
Any particular wheel hub/bearing/sensor brand found to hold up better than others? Sounds like I am in the market to purchase/replace mine to deal with Christmas tree effect on dash lights...
Thanks for all reviews.
I have the same problem 2001 grand am, goes thru front brakes
like water, has 78,000 miles third set of rotors, the ABS, Trac control and Service engine soon lights just came on, someone said the sensor may be covered with dirt, wondering if that was your problem or if you had to replace something... any ideas would be apperciated.
