2002 Pontiac Grand Am review from North America
"The car is not all it's cut out to be"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I own a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am; a beautiful car... but don't let looks deceive you.
Just last year I heard a loud noise in the driver's side door when trying to use my window, and before I knew it the whole window fell into the door. I can't believe this when I don't have kids that mess with the window, nor do I play with it; but it still did that. My husband was able to put it where it held up for a while; but true indeed, little plastic things trying to hold a huge window up is just a bad decision on the makers of the Pontiac Grand Am.
Now I heard the same sound in my passenger side window, but I am not even messing with it. Today however, the driver's side window fell again and so we are taking it to the dealership, so I am hoping they don't charge an arm and a leg for this malfunctioning mess.
General comments?
If I could give any suggestions, please sell your Grand Am before it does this to you, if you have electronic windows.
It rides nice, but what does a nice drive matter if you end up broken at the end of the journey due to paying the price for something that GM could have prevented by better and more reliable craftsmanship?
