"Good car, but Pontiac dealers suck"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

If the security light is blinking, the car won't start, and your lights all work... It may be that you set off the security on the car, which is an anti-theft system on the car. I have done this 2 times. It causes the starter to lock up due to turning the key too fast while trying to start the car. The key has a code in which gets scrambled because the computer did not have time to read the code...

How to fix it:

Turn the key to the on position for about 15 minutes.

After the 15 minutes, turn it directly to start. If it doesn't start, turn it to the off position then directly to start. If this doesn't work, you may have other problems with the car.

General comments?

I have a 2003 Grand Am GT with a 3.4 V6. It was trapped in a flood, and had water in the intake when I tried to start it. I got it running, but it idles at 3000 rpm. I've turned up 3 different possibilities, but I'm not that handy when it comes to mechanics, it could be the IAC Valve, PCV Valve or a Vacuum Leak. I haven't run diagnostics yet, I haven't had the money, but I was hoping someone could shed some light on the subject. Please email comments to the_catman_fox@yahoo.com thank you.
