2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"We don't think we will not buy any more cars in the future, and just keep driving our Grand Ams"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Only had a problem with the fuel pump, but that seems to be a common problem with GM.
General comments?
I have always loved Pontiac's. Since I got my license I drove nothing but Pontiac's.
My first car was a 94 Bonneville that was given to me from my mother. The car was too big, but was a great car.
My second was a 2000 Sunfire I bought used in 2002. That was also a great car, but it was too small for me. I'm a big girl that's 6 feet tall. Taller than my husband.
Finally my 3rd car that I drive now is a 2003 Grand Am SE 4dr with the 2.2 ecotec (same kind of engine that was in my Sunfire) that I bought used in 2006. I have to say that this is my favorite Pontiac model because it's not too big and not too small. My husband has a 2003 Grand Am 4dr also that he bought used in 2006, but his is a GT with the 3.4 V6. We got them both the same day at the same dealer. What I like better about his is that his car is powerful and takes off while mine is a little underpowered; after all it's a 4 cylinder in a midsize car. Mine tops out at 110mph on the speedometer, but I don't think it could go that fast. His car tops out at 140mph and could probably go that fast. But we both take turns driving them both so we're not just stuck driving one car.
We both had great luck with Pontiac. We are not pleased that GM dropped Pontiac out instead of another GM make. I do feel bad about the position that GM is in now. However I know they will get back in the game. Since they will not make anymore Pontiac's, we will just keep driving our Pontiac's.
