2001 Pontiac Grand Am review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This car left me stranded 4 times.
We went to a "shade tree" mechanic -- 1st bad choice. My car wouldn't start so my husband put gas in the engine, it would start for a second then of course die. So.. we thought just like the mechanic did it was the fuel pump. That was over $300.00 with labor.
Well a few weeks later it did it again, he changed it out with another fuel pump. He didn't have anything to test my car so he was just guessing. It left me stranded again the other day, luckily close to home. But we brought it to a different mechanic so he could put it on a computer. Came to find out it was the ignition switch the whole time. So now that's another $300.00 for something that would've cost us only $300.00 originally, and now it's all together over $600.00 because we went to a "shade tree" mechanic. My advice is bring it to a pro from now on.
