1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE II review from North America
"A great car with plenty of standard performance, for a great price!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing. The only costs I've had to deal with are: replacement tires, body work (car was smashed while parked), a super-charger, usual oil changes and a complete engine cleaning and/or inspection done at 30K miles.
No major breakdowns that you might expect from a GM (the nice thing about a GM product, there is no problem getting parts or service).
General comments?
Car's performance was excellent before supercharging. Adding this after-market part increased the car's horsepower from 185 to 230 which is a big improvement!
The handling is outstanding.
The interior is very comfortable and well designed.
The 6-speaker CD stereo system is remarkable (mostly because it is standard)!
The controls on the steering wheel are very convenient when you don't want to take your eyes off the road.
The back seat is very spacious, having sat back there myself! For a two-door, there is a lot of cargo room.
