1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"Very reliable family transportation"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
After 6 years the battery went bad in the driveway of our house. Hey, 6 years is pretty good.
After 77,000 trouble free miles in which it out lasted the 5 year payment book, the water pump discharge fitting sprung a leak. A tow paid for by my insurance company, a $15 part and most of a Saturday put us back on the road again.
I have yet to replace the front brakes. I have done the rear but, I could have let them go for a while. I had the drums off during tire rotation and figured what the heck.
General comments?
This has been the MOST reliable car I have ever experienced or even heard of. From reading the comments of others it seems some are really good and some are junk. I feel very fortunate to have my family in such a reliable vehicle. Taking reasonable care of it and treating it gently helps I'm sure.
