The coil pack went.

The right side steering rack mounting bracket broke.

The transmission was rebuilt at 105,000 miles.

The left front fender rotted badly and had to be replaced.

The timing chain was replaced as a preventive measure.

People complain about power windows, the roll up windows in this car were a nightmare. The driver side window was the worst. The regulator was replaced twice and the window was still hard to crank up. I put in a handle from a Ford van because it was longer and gave me better leverage.

This was a great commuter car. It had great fuel economy and was pretty quick too. Comfort wasn't a strong point, but it's a Grand Am, not a Grand Marquis. I sold it to a friend who is still using it with no problems.

I have a 1987 grand am and it is my first car I love it it is fast and reliable, but it is starting to rust a little bit around the wheel wells.

I have taken the car and completely redone the entire thing we painted the body, redid the entire carpet inside, put in brand new seats from a 1988 grand am, great reliable car that I am very proud to have bought.

I have an 87 Grand Am SE, I have had to replace the coil pack,

fuel pump, and rear brake line.

I have a 1987 pontiac grand am SE, it was my first car and I love it iam going on 220,000 km and runs like new looks great no rust it's a bute, however the oil sending switch has gone and now reads no oil pressure., other than that it's a great car one day I will replace everything, and completely re do it.
