1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"Nice GM product, but not for tall people"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace an idler wheel because one of the bearings had failed.
I replaced the Power Train Control Module because every once in a while my instrument panel would do the funky chicken and the car would stall. Fortunately this repair was covered under the 8Yr/130,000Km Emissions Warranty.
I replaced the wheel bearing in the front on the drivers side.
Unfortunately the struts in the front are worn, however, they are not critical to repair at the moment.
I had to replace the bearings in the Transmission because one of them failed. Though this could have been my fault. :-)
General comments?
The 2.4L Quad 4 has lots of pep, and gets great fuel economy. I love the car I am just too tall for it.
GM got the design right with this car in my opinion. I like cars with smooth sleek lines.
