2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE2 review from North America
"A good looking, fast, unreliable, uncomfortable lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had the car in the shop four times within the last two weeks; all for the same thing - the "check engine" light came on. First time I was told the gas cap was loose. The second time the fuel injector (s) were clogged. Next day the light comes on again, and the dealer merely reset the computer saying the light came on because it was still in the memory. One week later the light comes on again. This requires a two day stay in the shop and having to drive a Dodge Neon rental car. The final diagnosis was replacement of #3 fuel injector.
I pick up the car and there is no air conditioning.
I am totally frustrated and have no trust in this car.
I have notified the dealer and the leasing company of my desire for a replacement as this particular car is a lemon. I have had no reply from either entity.
Now I await the next problem. I believe that will be the tires because it looks like there is not much tread on them; I can see a yellow color on the tire and the tread does not appear to be very deep.
General comments?
It is a good looking car, but that means nothing if it is not trustworthy.
My 2000 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2 was much more comfortable. It had six way automatic seats. The 2002 model only has manual seats unless you buy the sports model with the sun roof; then you get the 6 way automatic seating.
