"A good looking, fast, unreliable, uncomfortable lemon"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have had the car in the shop four times within the last two weeks; all for the same thing - the "check engine" light came on. First time I was told the gas cap was loose. The second time the fuel injector (s) were clogged. Next day the light comes on again, and the dealer merely reset the computer saying the light came on because it was still in the memory. One week later the light comes on again. This requires a two day stay in the shop and having to drive a Dodge Neon rental car. The final diagnosis was replacement of #3 fuel injector.

I pick up the car and there is no air conditioning.

I am totally frustrated and have no trust in this car.

I have notified the dealer and the leasing company of my desire for a replacement as this particular car is a lemon. I have had no reply from either entity.

Now I await the next problem. I believe that will be the tires because it looks like there is not much tread on them; I can see a yellow color on the tire and the tread does not appear to be very deep.

General comments?

It is a good looking car, but that means nothing if it is not trustworthy.

My 2000 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2 was much more comfortable. It had six way automatic seats. The 2002 model only has manual seats unless you buy the sports model with the sun roof; then you get the 6 way automatic seating.

I bought a 2000 Grand AM for my son with 42,000 miles on it. He had driven the car about 6,000 miles when the service engine soon light came on. The computer says that fuel injector number 6 is bad and he is going to replace it this summer. However, I can't feel any appreciable missing or hesitation when driving it and wonder if the computer system is not working correctly. I'm thinking about disconnecting the service engine soon light and just use the old common sense method for determining if the car needs help.

The 2002 grand am is a lemon, the check engine light comes on every other day I think, The O2 sensors are all facultu, the rack and pinon a joke, the catalytic converter a joke, the power windows a joke, the fuel relay system a joke, did they let preschoolers build these cars. I do not recommend anybody buy a grand am if you do buy the extended warranty and still be prepared to spend all of your time ata the dealership, that will be your home away from home, if anybody got a good grand am they must have some angels looking out for them. These cars a re pure junk. You will do better to buy a foru-wheeler and general motors will come up with every excuse in the book not to help you, and they want either. The cars should be banned.
