1997 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America
"Screwed up"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
It began with water on the back floor, behind the passenger seat. I noticed a few times it was damp, but I have 6 grandchildren so I didn't think much of it.
After a downpour once when my car was not in the garage, there was 2 to 3 inches back there. I brought it in and after 4 days they said it's OK. About 6 months later the same thing happened, and there now was water on the front floors too. It only happens in downpours.
So they took it again and again, said it's fixed - this is 99, in 2000 it happened again and this time water under the driver's seat shorted out the alternator, battery and air bag module. They had it 20 days this time, replaced the rugs and everything and told me all was OK.
Once again it leaked in 2000, but now they say I am out of warranty, well a few calls later they fixed it calling it an on going problem and they would 'always' be responsible. Naturally I said, you never fixed it. Well I keep it in a garage, and 4 weeks ago, 2002, I didn't put it in, and it rained 3 days, bingo, all the water's back, the light's on for the air bag ETC.
THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT, PONTAIC AGREES... ARE THEY KIDDING, I CAN'T EVEN SELL THE BEAST, NOT WITHOUT TELLING ABOUT THE LEAK AND WHO WOULD WANT IT... SO I AM GOING TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND TRY TO GET SOME SATISFACTION, HOW DARE THEY DO THIS TO A DISABLED MAN WITH LIMITED INCOME, FOR THAT MATTER ANYONE... THEY TRIED 5 TIMES ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS, I THINK IT'S 6, BUT WHO CARES, IT WAS NEVER FIXED AND THEY HAD IT OVER 28 DAYS... I WILL WIN. I HOPE ROBERT DEININGER TEANECK NJ RD1064@AOL.COM
General comments?
Neat car, but this one problem makes it worthless.
