When I first purchased the vehicle, I noticed a lot of brake noise. Five days after I purchased the car, the manual window would not close. I have had to replace the brake pads and rotors. Once again the rotors are warped.
I need to replace the oxygen sensor. The check engine light is constantly coming on. I have also noticed the traction light, and the ABS light come on often.
Per the ignition recall, my key gets stuck in the ignition all the time. It sometimes takes four or five times, to get the key out.
I love the look of the car, but I am beginning to kick myself for buying it.
Maybe push the button on the shift to turn the traction light off and for the ABS light check the battery cause mine would do the same thing, but I thought maybe it was a sensor and didn't really worry about cause I still had regular brake then one night after driveing around town stoped at the store the light was on went into store came back car wouldn't start jump started it drove it home both the ABS and brake light were, but my brakes were good next morning got a new battery shoved it in my car none of the have ever came back on since except for the ets light when you turn it off.
I love my Grand Am SE too. It is a 1997 model. I have had lots of problems also. The check engine light has been on ever sense I got it, but it wouldn't come back with any codes. I have had the oxygen sensor replaced 4 or 5 times, but this last time I will get it from the dealer instead of one of the many part stores who are cheaper. It has 168,000 miles on it and I had to replace the fuel injectors last year along with the computer. It is a fast little car, but when one thing goes wrong it seems everything else falls apart too.
