1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"A good looking error"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My radio had volume knob problems at 27000 and the display module works intermittently since 30000.
My driver side window motor died at 35000 ($300).
My front and rear driver side regulators died the same day at 44000. Each repair costs about $500.
My interior plastics have swollen due to the Northern California heat (I've seen worse, really).
The battery and the alternator died the same day at 44000 ($350) and the bracket broke during the repair (Add another $200 with labor).
General comments?
It looked good when I bought it.
Driving was good with excellent power steering and the engine was OK.
But then the problems started and every other month I have to cope with a new surprise.
I have driven Ford, Volkswagen, Citroen, Renault with very few problems. Frankly I never thought GM could manufacture such a a poor quality car.
