2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America

CD player had random numbers on clock display. (dealership replaced)

Power seat quit working. (dealership replaced).

Scraping/scrunching noise on tires. (see comment below)

Heater would only work on fan speeds 3 & 4. (see comment below)

Ignition cylinder was damaged by dealership when replacing stereo. (dealership repaired)

Turn signals would not work at all times and emit loud buzzing noise. Had to replace relay switch.

Recently replaced brakes myself. The original ceramic brake pads cost $90 apiece if you do it yourself. But you can buy metallic type for $20.00 apiece.

I now have a lot of vibration coming from front end of car when driving at speeds in excess of 50 mph.

There is also a loud clicking noise when I turn my steering wheel at a stop.

If anyone has had these problems and had them fixed, please reply to this so I know where to go from here!

I had taken this car in for stereo, power seat motor and tires prior to my 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty expired. The dealership replaced stereo, power seat motor and in the process shorted out my ignition cylinder and didn't get heater wires connected correctly after replacing stereo. After a couple of attempts, all is well.

The scrunching noise from the tires was a bad design from Good Year. There are ribs on the tire that rub on the rim. The dealership had to order two new tires that were on backorder because of all the complaints. I questioned my back tires and wanted them to justify how they wouldn't grind the rim when I rotated tires. They "guaranteed" that would not happen or would replace them if that did occur. I waited patiently for 6 weeks for my 2 new tires. 6 weeks turned into 3 months. By the time the tires arrive, I was past my 36,000 mileage by about 2000 miles. My back tires still grind and scrunch. The dealership wouldn't replace them because they couldn't get the OK from GM. After several phone calls to GM myself, I was told I was "SOL" (and that is a quote. Was this a conspiracy between the dealer and GM to get out of replacing all 4 tires???
