Many things have gone since I got this car..First, the A/c started going bad and now it's just dead.
Next, I have change batteries 3 times, and it may be the alternator or the poor wiring.
The Oxygen sensor had to be replaced and that was a hell of a price.
The most awful thing that happened to this "car" was that it overheated for no reason at all.. well turn out that the radiator didn't work (not even because I've change the fan) and the catalyze was unusable beacause of this I just had to put another engine (used) and now I am wondering if a did good or not.
Power steering pump just blew and had to be replaced...too.
After all the "wrong things" about this car I have to say that it is a great model... it has awesome suspension for long and short trips... decent stock speakers, Nice gas mileage, no problems with the brakes or transmission...
I would say I strongly agree with your comment cause of the fact about the grandams and all cause I own a 94 grand am and have to replace the engine my self cause of a rod knock in it, and I also had to replace the heater core and a new alternator wich I thought was a problem with the battery and bought a couple new batteries, but came to find out it was my alternator, the car has an awesome stock system and has great gas mileage and a good suspension, I have a
QUAD (OHC) over head cam 3.1 lit engine and the worse part about it is that it's a rare engine and hard to find. it is very costly to rebuild, let alone to buy a brand new motor for it.
The DOHC engine is not a 3.1 liter. The 3.1 is a V6 configuration. The DOHC displacement is 2.4 liter.
