So far the car has had two problems. The first problem was with the heater core. It had to be replaced due to an Anti-Freeze leak that I discovered one morning in the snow. There was a hole in the heater core, and it cause the Anti-Freeze to leak. Cost me $374 to fix, but it's a small price to pay for the enjoyment I have had with this car.
The next thing that happened was the power steering belt went. It seems when I bought the car, it was already gone. It cost $80 to fix, and it was perfect.
Wonderful car. It gets me where I need to go. The transmission is smooth, and the engine is nice and loud, so I can show it off to my friends. Car accelerates quickly and though I would say I kind of beat it up a little, it hasn't had any engine problems.
One of the best parts of the car is the stock speakers. They are amazing. They makes it sound like the car has a full system in it.
It has kept clean, and it looks awesome. The fog lights and the paint make it look like a $40,000 car. I would suggest buying this car.
I have a 1994 pontiac grand am and it is having a problem with over heating I got a new thermostat in it and that was not the problem I can only drive the car for like 5 minutes and it starts to overheat terribly. If you have any comments or suggestions it would be most appreciated! Thank you, kristina bittinger - k_m_b_36@yahoo.com.
Your overheating could be many things. Personally I would start with a visual check under and above the Motor. By that I mean looked for kinked or collapsed Rubber Hoses. Definitely check with a powerful Flashlight the Back Heater Hoses. Failing that I would run some Radiator Flush through the Radiator, this takes 4 or 5 hours because you need to Drain Radiator when Engine cold and then add the Flush Chemical, top off with Water, run it for 10 minutes with heater on full heat, Allow Engine to cool then drain Radiator and fill up with plain water only. Run Engine again ten minutes with heater again on full. Allow motor to cool then drain, then add your 50/50 Mix of Antifreeze and distilled water this time. I would also run a very light pressure garden hose over the outside of the Radiator to dislodge any bugs/mud et cetera. Of course you can cut the time down by adding Hot water. I hope this is of some use to you. I have found that it is best to start with the basics and hopefully this will solve your problem.
