1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"Sporty AND economical? Yes!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced front right wheel bearing assembly at 88000mi.
Alternator, belt, and battery replaced at 118000. (Car sat for a year)
Ignition module, spark plugs, coil housing, and fuel injectors replaced due to a miss in #4 cylinder. (Still got a speeding ticket on 3 cylinders!!)
Rattle in rear of car (needs exhaust redone).
Seat bottoms are broken down.
Multiple paint chips.
Needs new axle seals in trans.
Cassette player worn out.
I finally had to recharge the AC.
General comments?
This has been a great car and I will be keeping it for 6 more years and give it to my daughter for her first car since she helps me work on it.
The power feels the same as day one.
I have used Mobil 1 5w30 since first oil change at 1000mi.
I use a K&N air filter.
The coolant is original and still tests OK.
I put in a larger front anti-sway bar and now it steers like a go cart. Lots of fun! I highly recommend it!
Just completed Chicago to Kansas City round trip and averaged 30MPG.
Overall, this car has been fun, reliable, sporty, comfortable, economical, and an absolute joy to own with low and easy maintenance that I have done myself.

| A really great driving machine, wouldn't trade it for the world despite being temperamental. |
