1995 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America
"Despite the trouble I have had with the car, I still can't imagine ever having to part ways with it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I recently got my car back from the shop where it has been sitting for 8 months. For the 3 years that I have owned this car, I have had to do general repairs that are to be expected. That is until I was on the highway one night and my timing chain broke, causing a domino effect throughout my engine until rods shot through the engine every which way. I had to spend close $3000 getting a new engine put in. I could have junked it, but I couldn't find the logic in doing it since I would only get a few hundred for it, when the radio alone is worth more than that.
General comments?
Since I've had the new engine in it has been running like the day I bought it, obviously. I will probably keep it for at least a year, but the value has been going fairly quick for this car, so I will have to inevitably part with her for something under warranty.
Despite the car being almost 10 years old, I still get a lot of second looks when I drive by and everyone I meet always has a comment on how they would love to have a car that looked as sleek and fast as mine.
