2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America
"Pretty decent ride"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This car starts hard and cranks way too long before it starts. Dealer told me it was normal.
There was a rotating scrubbing sound from the front wheels which was finally corrected by pulling out the service bulletin which identified the Good Year RS/A (which had little ribs around the bead) tires as the problem, and replacing them with the correct RS/A tire (no little ribs around the bead). GM replaced only two tires for free. The dealer purchased the other two for free.
General comments?
I liked the look and performance of this car even though Car and Driver trashed it in their review... I guess it's not a BMW M3. Although it only has 175 horse power, I think the performance is pretty good. I bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty from an on-line source which should cover me for the next 74,000 miles... I just hope I don't have problems with the warranty, but that's another topic.
