1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America
"Very nice, very reliable, and very cheap."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Heater/AC would not work in 1 or 2, $2.00 part, the resistor was blown. Window regulator problem, very cheap and easy to find on ebay. Vibration in front end, fixed with new tires, squeak when hitting bumps, fixed by replacing strut bushings. All fixes are cheap and none have really been major, most grand ams do have intake leaks, pontiac should have a recall on that.
General comments?
Very fast car, put a turbo kit on, new exhaust, and ported everything in intake, and you thought it was fast stock. Handles the power like a dream, nothin like domestic tuner that will blow the doors off an ls1 camaro!!! All in all though, the care is very reliable, only minor problems, the mechanics are the majority of the problem, but I like to tinker so I can usually find the problem first.
