While still at the dealership, drivers side window would not go up all the way. Dealer fixed under warranty.
While on the test drive, we heard a loud humming noise from the rear of the car. Service department drove and found nothing wrong. Haven't had any problems since.
Passenger seat had been sewn up at one of the seams, and it's tearing again.
Replaced front brakes and rotors at 40,000 miles.
Chrome exhaust tips are rusting and look terrible. I'll have to replace them soon.
I Love this car!!! I loved my 1996 Grand Am GT sedan, and decided to move up to a 2003 Grand Am GT coupe.
Grand Am's are stylish, fast, and affordable.
When I drove it off the dealers lot everyone was turning their heads and staring at the car, and they still do!!
The interior is also impressive. The steering wheel is nice and I love the glow of the red interior dash lights. The only thing I don't like are the air vents. There are too many in the middle, I liked my '96 vents better.
I also love the 16" rims. The Eagle RS/A tires don't do very well on snow or ice. It makes me nervous in the winter.
I drive 80 miles a day round trip, and more on the weekends. The Grand Am is a great high-mileage car.
The ram air engine is impressive, a huge improvement over my old 4-cylinder. I can blow everyone away on the highway!
Buy the extended warranty because repairs can get very expensive!
I plan to put on new mirrors, Grand Am splash guards, 3rd brake light decal, new exhaust tips, and possibly tint the windows.
It's a very cute and fast car- worth the money!!!
I definitely agree this is a great car for long drives. Its comfortable and has a great stock sound system in it. Its highway mileage is also pretty good for a V6.
