1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE II review from North America
"Fun little rusty white rocket!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Warped rotors at 5,000 miles.
Battery died at 30,000.
Noticed the paint was bad 3 weeks after I bought it.
General comments?
The car had white paint and there were black flecks all over it which turned into rust. It spread all over the car. Went to 3 different dealerships, all said it was rail dust. They tried a couple of different quick-fixes, but could not fix it permanently and would not repaint it. They said I was being too picky and I should just live with it. Got the runaround from the corporate office too. I finally just gave up. Never,EVER buy a WHITE CAR!!! Every white car I have seen (old or new) has this problem. The manufacturers continue to push this onto unsuspecting buyers and then refuse to take responsibility for it.
Other than the paint, I loved the car, very responsive and very quick, handles great.
