1997 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from North America
"Don't judge a book by it's cover"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 110,000 miles had to replace breaks.
At 125,000 miles had to replace water pump.
Then less than 5,000 miles I had to replace the water pump once again.
At 140,000 miles had to replace the altenator.
Interior lights, and all circuts will often stay on or sometimes not work at all making it hard to run anything elecrtical in the car.
Horn no longer works.
Joy stick to angle my mirrors has fell inside of my door where I can't get it out.
At 150,000 miles I had to replace my heating core.
At 155,000 miles I had to replace the intake.
Paint on my mirrors always seems to chip off.
The inside section of my doors are poorly put on making loud vibrations and small peaces falling off.
My cars transmisson often slips leaving it with no acceleration and only high reving.
Seats are poor
Handling and suspension are poor.
General comments?
I may have bought my car used, but it was taken care of by me and the previous owner.
I think after a 100,000 miles the cars reliability is gone.
It's in a garage more than it's on the road.
They body may look great, but I personally beleave these cars just don't have the heart.
