1993 Pontiac Grand Am GT review from Jersey
"My Pontiac is one of the best used cars I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Previous owner took great care of this car and had a lot of the original parts replaced: Fuel pump, water pump, oil pump, alternator, new paint job.
Original parts I've replaced in the one year I've owned the car: Rear brake cylinders and starter.
Driver side window off track. Needs help closing all the way.
Passenger side window moody. Goes up and down when it wants to.
Check gages light goes on and off from time to time.
Air vent covers on dash fall off easily when bumped while cleaning.
Hot and cold air that blows through vents could be more powerful.
Unless the car is warmed up or you turn them on manually, the interior lights don't come on immediately when you open the doors.
Recently failed inspection for emmissions, Inoperative driver window and third stop light not working.
Although these problems seem minor, the repairs are costly and add up when you need to have a mechanic or auto body person fix them.
General comments?
The car runs great and It's clean inside and out.
Shortly before inspection I had a tune-up, oil change, all around brake job and tires.
Aside from the problems above and the poor suspension on bumps and potholes the car takes me where I have to go and back with no problems. It's a very reliable car.
