2000 Pontiac Grand Am review from North America
"Don't buy a Grand Am GT"
General comments?
Nothing but problems.
Don't buy one!
The steering wheel vibrates at 60 plus.
I replaced the tires at 10,000 but the shaking continues.
I have had electrical problems such as a blown radio, horn malfunction, blinker light malfunction, and both power wondows breaking all within the first two years.
The vacuum hose fell off when I was going 45 miles per hour. After the tow, the mechanic at the dealership said that that should never happen.
Last year the tires were scraping. I took it in and they said that it was the rim rubbing against the tires, but they assured me that it was safe to drive. (Yeah Right) I had to replace the tires at 36,000 miles.
This year, I had some gasket leak which caused the oil and coolant to mix... that was $1,300 to fix. Again, it was one of those "fluke" things that just does not happen to good vehicles.
I paid 22,000 for the car and now have another 3,000 (at least) put into it for repairs. I do not feel safe in it due to all of the issues.
I am counting down the days when I can have it paid off so I can trade it in. It has been a very unfortunate situation. I will never buy Pontiac again and if you read this...hmmm... will you?
