142, 000kms front rotors.
OK, This the review you want to read, on this car.
NOTHING done to the engine and I drive it like it's a race car. I'm young so of course I will. no suspension transmition, no problems. smooth shifting as most GM cars are. responsive. and great handling for a car that was 19 000, easily keep up with handling with sports cars, unless it's a vette or something like that.
3.4 litre ram air delivers plenty of power and can't take more than 75 percent of cars on the road. NOTHING done to the engine and I drive it like it's a race car. I'm young so of corse I will
MONSOON system the best stock system without a sub on the market,
One thing it does start weird from time to time. but all grand ams did. nothing bad. its probably the way I use the stereo when the car is shut off.
ONLY thing replaced on the whole car is the 2 front rotors at 142 000 kms.
Young guys aren't the only ones who drive like a bat out of Pasadena. I'm nearly 60, and a car enthusiast from way back. My all-time favorite car is one of the ones I own now: A bright red 2001 Grand Am.
We've owned everything from a Lincoln Town car to a Mazda RX-7. NOTHING comes close to this little Pontiac. It will out-handle and outrun 90% of the cars on the road. It is only SLIGHTLY slower than my Mustang 5.0, and handles wayyyyyy better.
This ones a "keeper", and I plan to drive it another 150,000 miles if I live that long. The new G-6 is an ugly Japanese wannabe and DOES NOT perform as well, regardless of what the clueless car magazine writers say. I've test driven two, and neither was as fast or handled as well as my Grand Am, plus Pontiac doesn't even offer them in sporty colors, just "old lady" colors.
I don't know what the deal is with car companies only making cars in ugly colors now. We've been looking at small to mid-size cars, but want a real RED car (not an ugly burgundy!!) We've looked at the Corolla, the Scion Tc, the G-6, the Hyundai Sonata and several other small cars. The only ones still made in sporty colors (red or yellow) are the Cobalt and the Focus. How come everyone is only offering colors geared to senior citizens?? We don't really want a Cobalt or a Focus, but I guess we'll have to settle for one.
I own a 2001 grand am GT and I love it all except for the govenor on it. it will only hit 120 and won't go any highier. how do I get it off? I love the car its fast and not too bad on the eyes.
