2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3.8 from North America

Summary:

High performer

Faults:

Buick Century was reliable and comfortable vehicle. The draw back was its 3.1 v6 engine.

General Comments:

Pontiac Grand Prix GT on the other hand is a great car. I have had this car since March 20,2002.Very stable on cornering, the car hugs the road beautifully due to its wider base, makes effortless passing. Up to now all I did as far as service is to change oil. It also looks great. I would give this car a solid 10.

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 40th anniversary 3.8 Supercharged from North America

Summary:

Vastly overpriced, poor quality, not recommended

Faults:

Water problems constantly on drivers floor.

General Comments:

The 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 40th Anniversary edition for which I paid over $40,000 dollars for is probably the biggest waste of money I ever have had the occasion to spend. The seating is like sitting on a rock even though it is leather. There is no heated seat for the passenger.. The bose sound system is so lacking in performance that I went to the local sound shop to see if I could upgrade... Of course I couldn't. I have had a constant water problem on the drivers side of the car... sometimes it is like a lake in there... The local car dealership can't find the problem even though they had the car for a week... So I have a smelly interior and fogged up windows all of the time... If anyone wants a low mileage GTP please contact me... I will gladly give it away to the highest bidder just to get rid of it... My 2000 Taurus caused me no problems and I had it for three years...

I am not sure how he could have paid $40,000. I have every option and the sticker was $30,400. Mine has given me no issues. The Bose sound system is fabulous and the seats are very comfortable. Some people are just never satisfied.

No one asked you to buy this so called horrible car. Do you not realize that cars will sometimes have imperfections. I have a 02 Grand Prix and it has met every expectation. If you compare positive reviews to the negative reviews that should show you something. Just do us all a favor, sell your so called horrible Grand Prix stop giving it a bad name and buy back your Ford Taurus.

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 V6 (3.1 FI) from North America

Summary:

Fun, great highway manors, overall best value I have had

Faults:

Glove box light switch stopped working, was replaced free, even not under warranty- excelent dealer service.

Some minor squeaks and rattles start at 30,000 miles, but then disappear around 50,000 miles.

General Comments:

If you keep good tires on it (I use aquatred 3 tires) it will handle predictably, but unfortunately with a ton of under-steer. The understeer can be a problem since just letting off the throttle does not allow the car to correct; you must smoothly apply the breaks to get the car to correct.

I have run the recommended maintenance schedule, and have had no problems with the engine, transmission, door locks, windows, or anything other than the glove box light switch failure.

I would prefer the supercharged GTP, since when driving this car into high altitude areas of the country, it seriously lacks performance (on Ute Pass in Colorado Springs it had to downshift into second gear almost on every corner)

Passing from 60 MPH is a dream below 4,000 ft; once above 4,000 ft there is some lack of performance; if you get this above 8,000 ft there is a complete loss of passing power, requiring more than 1,500 ft to pass even the smallest of vehicles.

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 from North America

Summary:

Very impressive

Faults:

I have enjoyed this car since we purchased it. I am satisfied with it, But we did have a couple of simple glitches that the dealer fixed when we brought it to there attention.

First of all, the passenger side seat back closest to the door in front had the thread separate and the two pieces of cloth separated, it was fixed by the dealer.

Also we were having a problem with the car starting at times, didn't matter whether it was a hot start or cold start. the dealer did test and found the problem to be a leaking fuel pressure regulater which they ordered in and fixed.

General Comments:

Over all we are satisfied with the vehicle and wouldn't hesitate to promote it ss a good reliable vehicle.
