2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP review from North America
"Very nice, but need to resurrect the 2 door coupe"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing yet. But I am thinking of buying the car at the end of my lease in Oct 07. I am aware that a similar 2004 Grand Prix belonging to a friend (whose lease expires 6 months before mine does) has just experienced the "worn valve o-ring" problem. He purchased his car 6 months ago at the end of his lease. At 72,000 miles the tranny needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,800. The repair shop was very aware of the problem and guessed the car's mileage based on the nature of the problem.
Based on comments like I'm reading here I may need to reconsider the merit of purchasing this car.
General comments?
The car has nice pickup, but tends to be a bottom-feeder in the performance food chain.
The "Comp G" suspension package is a very worthwhile addition. The car hugs the corners nicely.
