1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP review from North America

"It has been maintained well over 200% on oil changes as well as all other services req'd"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My transmission blew at 47,000 km.

My front brakes had to be machined at 22,000 km. Then, when I was due for a normal brake job as would be expected; there was not enough thickness left on the rotors to.

My fuel sensor had to be replaced and relocated within the engine compartment at approx. 43,000 km.

My belt tensioner had to be replaced at 98,000 km.

My rocker cover gaskets had to be replaced at 124,000 km.

My Intake manifold gasket had to be replaced at 124,000 km.

My left front transaxle boot had to be replaced at 124,000 km.

My Radiator had to be have a major flush of complete system at 124,000 km.

My rear main seal had to be replaced at 124,000 km.

My extended warranty that the dealer sold to me was unknowingly not the original GMPP as I was told buy the salesman. I guess he'd make a bigger commission off the one he actually sold to me. I was told the company was a carrier representing the GMPP warranty on behalf of General Motors Ltd. This warranty has turned out to have so many loop holes in it, it appears now that every item in the coverage section of the contract also has a number of clauses to meet that are based mostly on subjective views of the claims adjusters who have control over whether they accept the claim or not.

I know have transmission problems again and it looks like the extended warranty company doesn't want to deal with the problem unless the cars' computer shows a fault code for the shifts. this is contrary to GMs' own bulletin for this particular vehicle (document ID# 901351.

General comments?

I'm not a happy camper at this time!!!
