"Not bad because you can fix most things yourself"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Moisture in the rear passenger tail light.

Theft control module replaced. Car would not start at times. Took 2 years to pinpoint the problem.

Constant brake repairs until we put on high end brakes.

Console lid broke off at the hinge.

EGR causing engine light to come on at 80 kmh. $300 to replace EGR.

Buttons broke off seat belt straps. Buckle slips down into where the strap comes out. Also gets caught in door breaking the lenses on both front doors.

Radio knob broke. Glued and fixed.

Alternator replaced twice. At 100,000Km and 190,000Km ($250.00 for part only) Easy to install.

Serpentine Belt tensioner replaced at 190,000km.

General comments?

All repairs can be done by owner. Use Haynes manual.

I have a 1995 pontiac grand prix se. I just spent $1000 on fixing the engine because coolant leaked in to it. It ran fine until it just quit running while my son was driveng it. It cranks real good, but I don't think its getting gas, I changed the fuel filter, which was real rusty looking, then I listned for the sound of the fuel pump in the gas tank and did not hear anything. I like working on cars, it saves a lot of money if it is a small job. do you think its the fuel pump? I did not check the spark plug for fire, and a friend told me to put alittle gas in the carburetor to see if it would run. help!!!
