1989 Pontiac LeMans 3 door hatch & GSE review from North America
"Owned two, love them both!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel pump died on both.
Starter died on 1.6.
On GSE, lots of trouble with ignition module.
Right now GSE in shop for fuel regulator problems.
Speedometer cable broke on both.
Leaky gaskets on both (but then, 3/4ths of cars have those) :)
Delco radio in GSE freaks out, flips on/off until it's "Warmed up."
1.6l distributer had trouble with humidity.
General comments?
I've owned two and love them both!
First a 1.6l/5spd 3door first, loved it. Bought expensive (2600) but ran great.
Then a 2.0l/5spd GSE. Bought cheap ($1k), but has been troublesome so far. Still love it.
I'm 6'1", I think it's roomy/comfy unless you're hauling lots of friends. Put the backseat down and it's cavernous!
Been doing most repairs myself.
