Fuel pump died on both.
Starter died on 1.6.
On GSE, lots of trouble with ignition module.
Right now GSE in shop for fuel regulator problems.
Speedometer cable broke on both.
Leaky gaskets on both (but then, 3/4ths of cars have those) :)
Delco radio in GSE freaks out, flips on/off until it's "Warmed up."
1.6l distributer had trouble with humidity.
I've owned two and love them both!
First a 1.6l/5spd 3door first, loved it. Bought expensive (2600) but ran great.
Then a 2.0l/5spd GSE. Bought cheap ($1k), but has been troublesome so far. Still love it.
I'm 6'1", I think it's roomy/comfy unless you're hauling lots of friends. Put the backseat down and it's cavernous!
Been doing most repairs myself.
Hello, I have a 1989 Pontiac Le Mans GSE and I'm 6'3 and I think its comfortable too. if you can send me some advice or information that could help me with it. I have done repairs myself too. I have turned my interior yellow and black and I am getting ready to purchase some wheels and tires for it to give it a more sportier look. i think it could look like a honda civic crx after I get finished with it. so far I've only made small modifications to it like interior color and lighting and I'm gonna have it painted jet black in three weeks and exhaust. if you could tell me anything to help email me at cimarwhi@walmartconnect.com.
