It needed a new alternator.
The A/C doesn't work.
It barely gets warm in the winter.
The auto seat belts went bad.
Drain of battery caused by seat belts
not shutting off.
The transmission went bad (no second gear).
And now it won't start.
This was my first car I ever owned and I have to say I was totally disappointed. I bought it from my aunt for $200 and it needed the new alternator. it ran before I got my licence and about 3 months after I got my licence the tranny went bad. the engine bracket bolts came out and the engine dropped against my transmission lines and cracked them. all the fluid came out and I totally burnt up the transmission. (i guess that was kinda my bad). so this car is totally crap!
You neglected to mention the mileage, but considering what you paid for it, it probably was already abused when you got it and you certainly don't sound like you were diligent with maintenance either. The transmission burning up after you kept driving without any fluid in it is not a defect in the car.
There is something that is total crap here, but probably not the LeMans...
I Agree. $200.00 Well that's not even a decent cars payment for one month. I suggest next car you check the tranny fluid and all the fluids before starting the car.
And I would learn a little more about cars if you want some good advice especially if you are going to drive.
For $200 you should not expect too much. A car that sells at this price is usulally good for scrap. Also, have you taked great care of this car? These "defects" seems to come from a car that has not been taken care of.
I bought mine for $500. I repaired the head gasket by myself, and I have driven it for 15000 km. It consumes around 38 mpg and I'm pretty happy with it. I didn't have a big budget and was my only transport option, so I'm grateful for it.
