1990 Pontiac LeMans LE from North America - Comments

"Avoid the Pontiac LeMans!!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

In the 7 months that we owned it, we replaced the timing belt/chain, muffler, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Then the head gasket went a month ago. That's when we decided that the car just wasn't worth the money to fix. If we had decided to fix it, it would have needed new brakes.

General comments?

This car never did run quite right. Sometimes when you would shift reverse to drive, it would stall. It was always very loud and rough which is very surprising for a car with only 77,000 miles.

The only good thing about it was it would always start right up and go, even in very cold weather.

We are trying to sell it, I have been starting it every couple of weeks, and it always started with the first turn of the key. But take my advice, don't buy a Pontiac LeMans

I have owned a '88 Lemans for almost two years now. I paid a whole six hundred dollars for the little hampster wheel. I've replaced just about the entire under the hood (cap, rotor, starter, alternator, axel, cv-joint, stabilizer linkage, all electrical wireing and the entire braking system). with all the money I could have got my self a nice car. not only that But I could almost set my watch to when the piece of crap is going to break down. Take my advice, if you even hear of anyone thinking of buying a pontiac lemans, slap them around until they think straight again!

I have found my Pontiac to be an utterly reliable, high powered car that has never let me down. It has done 135000 miles and looks like it will keep going for a while yet.

GO THE PONTIAC!!!

I have had my 1990 pontiac lemans now for about two months and everything just won't get better!!!Ever since I have had it it has coused me nothing, but problems. There is a shortage in one of the lights going to my battery, the brakes have already gone bad, the exhaust is always loud, and it stalls all of the time and then won't start back up for about three hours. In my opinion these cars really aren't the graitest thing to have on the road for safety or to even just go on a road trip with. Let alone drive around town with. Thank you for reading my comment.
