"Maintenance nightmare"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Transmission Failed at 120,000 Km.

Intake Gasket Failed at 100,000 Km.

Head Gasket Leaking Coolant at 150,000 Km.

Wipers Stay in up position at 150,000 Km.

Power Windows fail or work intermittently (usually stuck down of course).

Back wiper stopped working.

Power locks don't lock/unlock all doors, some stick in the old position.

Back hatch leaks water when it is raining heavy.

ABS sensors fail.

Fuel gauge inaccurate, so you have to guess the amount of fuel you have.

Radio lights failed at 100,000 km so you can't see the display.

General comments?

This van is comfortable enough, and has enough power to do the great job. 8 person capacity is handy with big families.

However, it is a maintenance nightmare! I have warned a number of people about these van's built around this year.

We purchased it off a lease and it ran great. Even got an dealer recommended extended warranty from AutoShield.

Then things started happening. One after the other.

Repaired the major stuff like transmission and intake gasket. Put sealant in the coolant for the head gasket so I guess we are on borrowed time there. My wife is actually scared to drive it.

Oh and the extended warranty would not cover any of of the problems because they insisted they are GM problems (fine print says if there is a technical service bulletin TSB from General Motors they don't have to cover it... NICE!). Of course GM says its out of their warranty so its not their problem.

This van is not for someone who isn't a mechanic!
