2001 Pontiac Montana review from North America
"it's value for money, however I am concerned about repair costs."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Automatic transmission packed up at approx 54,000 Kilometer's, in November 2003. Needed to be rebuilt under warranty.
Air conditioning gradually stopped working Spring 2004.
Rear power windows work intermittently.
Transmission problems surfaced again in November 2004. Dealer fixed it. Apparently there is a a wiring harness and solenoid inside the transmission which was damaged by fluid.
One week and $1300 later the car is back again at the dealers!!
General comments?
The car is a sharp looker and handles and drives well.
The engine is a bit coarse, but pulls well. The fuel consumption is excellent.
The seats are comfortable, but the arm rest could be better padded. Interior is plasticky and looks dull, except at night when it is well illuminated in red.
