Normal exhaust system repairs (was needed and had no problems passing emission 6 months later)
Replaced the driver's mirror.
I recently replaced an alternator (The K64 code is a 94 Amp), This car still ran prior to repair with no amp in the alternator and less than 5 volts in the battery and astounded the mechanic when he couldn't get it to stall out.
Replaced the battery, run down by the alternator.
It has been very low maintenance up to this point.
I own a 1985 Pontiac Parisienne 5.0 Broughham with 196,000 miles on it. The original owner bought it new for $ 6800.00 and I paid $ 1500.00 for it in 2001. While it wasn't my first choice to drive--I'm not a big car fan, but I have to say I drive in luxury. It has been very dependable for the last two years. I commute 50 miles everyday and even with today's gas prices, I only put $20.00 in it every 3 days. After reading all the other comments made on this model, I truly agreed with all of them. I'm very proud to own it.
I read your comments on having/driving a Pontiac Parisienne! I agree! My husband & I own a 85 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham (it was my father's and bought it from my mother (in /92) when my Dad died). He always drove GM cars. Proud to drive a Pontiac! The luxury etc. It's a 'small 8 cylinder'- but - what power! I must be honest though - the transmission has been the 'biggest' problem - seems when you drive off towards an incline (eg. coming off the queensway sort of thing and slopping downwards...) the transmission doesn't automatically kick in! We've had this tested numerous times and apparently, it's a 'flaw' in that year of pontiacs. It's annoying, especially when you're 'clipping along' and exiting off a ramp... you suddenly lose 'power'...besides this, the normal wear and tear exists... but the most valuable lesson, in any car, is to 'keep it up' (i.e. maintenance). We keep on top of the rust etc. You wouldn't believe how many people who have, and still do, stop us/me, and say 'what a beautiful car'...also, people that own pontiacs...anyway, I was wondering would you know where we can get a wheel cover. Ours, disappeared (driver's front side). There very rare. We just (2 years ago) replaced all four, @ cost of $250 ea (cdn)...probably just going to the junk yard...? Anyway - enjoy your 'drive'...happy motoring!

I love my 1985 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham. The body is beginning to look old, but it still runs great! I find it rather easy to work on myself, as well. I bought this car for $300 just recently, and it is remarkably reliable for a vehicle over 20 years old and 190,000 miles. It burns oil a bit, but run smooth.
