1993 Pontiac Sunbird review from North America
"Overall, for its age, it's been a pretty reliable car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the starter at 45000 miles.
Car kept overheating last summer; needed a new radiator. I've been adding a little coolant this summer now and then, even though replaced.
It's been a good car most days. The air conditioning doesn't work, but I haven't bothered to get it fixed.
Engine misses, and the check engine light came on. Then the light went out.
Idles rough and loses power going up hills.
Took it to a different shop last week and had a complete tuneup done, and they replaced the ERG valve. Check engine light off; now has only come on once since then. Mechanic says it's running rich. Car runs no better. Mechanic knocked 200.00 off bill, no fix.
One morning after driving to work, only four miles, I heard a loud buzzing, but when I restarted it, it was gone. Don't know what that was? Hopefully, a different garage may find the problem of the miss and rough idle, and the power loss going up hills.
