1991 Pontiac Sunbird LE from North America - Comments

"A great mileage car which is very reliable when treated right."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Belts have loosened a couple times, so fan wouldn't cool.

Alternator went out once.

Coolant fluid tended to keep going down, leaks kept occuring (recently).

Have gone through four lifetime warranty mufflers.

Tape deck shakes at 70 MPH.

General comments?

This car is reliable and won't die.

Gets excellent gas mileage, have had up to 38 miles per gallon.

Body of car looks like new. Has no rust and still shines, with regular maintenance.

Would drive this car state to state with no worries.

However, it's a three passenger car comfortably. Back seat has little room.

Great college car or work car!

I am the second owner of my 1991 Pontiac Sunbird. I bought my car two years ago and the only trouble I have had from it is the alternator went out once, other than that I give high praises to my car. See I'm a volunteer fire fighter so I need a car with a little <umph> under the hood. And my car indeed has that.

It is a 91 Pontiac Sunbird, two door coupe LE.

3.1 multi-port V-6. The car still looks like it did the day it rolled off the lot, other than a few modifications I made for the fire dept,,, but this week my car will trip over (260,000.0 miles and I am going to throw her a little party and hope it will keep going.

In other words Id say the Pontiac Sunbird is one heck of a car.
