1991 Pontiac Sunbird LE review from North America
"A cheap commuter car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car for 300 Canadian off a neighbor which was a pretty good steal considering it only had 157,000km. The car ran up until 166,000km when I discovered the car wasn't giving any heat. The head gasket had to be replaced. While doing the head gasket, I decided to do everything such as the timing belt, water pump, the head was machined, spark plugs, wires, cap distributor, tensioner, heater core, brakes, and also fix the rad since there was a leak. Ever since then, the car runs amazing. Took it to Laval, Quebec for the weekend. It ran beautifully. I put 1,300 km that weekend back and forth. I managed to get about 700km on a full tank of gas. Almost like diesel.
General comments?
I would recommend anyone to buy one, it's a good, reliable car which is cheap on gas and insurance. The performance isn't all that great, but it sure drives amazingly.
