1991 Pontiac Sunbird LE review from North America
"Better than Honda"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sitting in my garage, doesn't run with a cracked head. Started smoking.
Dash warped.
Alternator.
Driver's side window knob kept falling off - really irritating.
Went through lots of brake pads.
3 sets of tires.
Driver's seatbelt didn't work.
Didn't need a key to start.
Lots more was wrong, just can't remember it all. But nothing really costed much.
General comments?
This was a very reliable car considering it was running with only 3 spark plugs for about 20,000k. The oil wasn't regularly changed or added and it was just fryed to the engine.
I got this car after my Mom got a new car and it was handed down to me. Went to highschool then college (60k+ a day) for about a year and a half.
This car has been through hell and back. Really has taken a beating. I really didn't take very good care of it, but it took pretty good care of me. Until of course it stopped running. I think it could have still driven a while with the cracked head, but it smoked just way to much. I even got a ticket for it once.
With regular maintenance this car could have probably outlasted any Honda.
Not very much money was put into this car, but it's probably going to be sold to a junk yard in the next few months RIP.
