1997 Pontiac Sunfire SE review from North America
"I love my car!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only things that have gone wrong are just things that needed to be replaced due to age not malfunction.
I bought the car at 264,000k in Dec 06 and in the 13 months I've had her I have replaced the following..
Water pump-$85
spark plugs-$20
alternator-$60
front tire-$35
Need done...
Serpentine belt-$24
tension-er pulley-$104
O2 sensor -$30
I'm lucky though my husband was a mechanic before he switched careers and we have only paid for parts at discount from his connections.
General comments?
The car handles great.
Low maintenance.
11 yrs old almost 300,000k and she runs like new.
Minor problems with parts do to age.
Planning on replacing O2 sensor, serpentine belt and ceased tension-er pulley which will only cost me $150 total.
Great clean car no rust no dents very minor scratches.
Great on gas.
Makes a nervous driver like me feel safe and at ease.
I don't have to worry about blowing the head gasket my car has the same metal on the top as on the bottom unlike previous models
I love my car!!!
