1995 Pontiac Sunfire SE review from North America
"A good car overall, beginning to show wear with time"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The head gasket had a small leak, however, my mechanic (who is not a dealership mechanic) informed me that the head gasket was on a silent recall and was replaced for free.
The fuel pump went out at approximately 60,000 miles.
The alternator needed to be replaced at 95,000 miles.
My starter is now going out at 100,000 miles.
A couple of years into my ownership I began experiencing a malfunction that would cause my headlights to turn off and revert back to the running lamps if you push the turn signal too far when turning left.
General comments?
The car has extremely good pickup for a four-cylinder.
Car is quick and extremely responsive. Handles real well.
There is a lot of room in the cabin and in the trunk in comparison to the car size.
The oil filter is extremely hard to reach and makes it difficult for you to change oil on your own.
Tires seem to wear quickly on this car. I am not sure if it is the alignment.
